In my opinion the simplest fix here is the best one

In my opinion the simplest fix here is the best one. Make points proportional to the number and quality of fams defeated in a fight.

 If you want big points for a fight you have to fight 9xL not 9x.

 

I believe this would completely eliminate the 3 man teams since it is unlikely that they could keep up with the points of a 5 man team. Just assign points to each fam like they do experience,

factor in a bonus title, and have the system add that up.
